Brugge in December

'Tis cold and wet, but good to be here nonetheless for a 5-day pre-Christmas break, staying at the English Convent.

Just off the main square there's a nice little pub ...

and the Christmas ligths are pretty, even in the rain!

  2. (Sigh) How wonderful to be there! Wine, hot chocolate, nuns at prayer. All good Christian things...

  3. The answer to BillyD lies with Henry VIII and the persecution of Catholic ladies in Yorkshire, who then fled to the Low Countries and established their community.
