  1. So lovely!!!

What is that crop? I'm sure it is a cereal grain of some variety.

  2. Wonderful photo. Just like St Edmundsbury, no people and nothing happening

  3. It's wheat, Susan. We have wheat, barley and rape around us this year, along with peas and sugar beet. Fields of peas were damaged by the recent winds - had their tops snapped off, so they will probably be lost crops and be ploughed back in. The rape, after yesterday's heavy rain, stinks. Quite a rancid aroma, but that will go as it dries once more.
Lots of the hay was harvested last week before the rain, and the barley is just about ready. The wheat needs a few more weeks to fully ripen and turn from golden yellow to almost white.

  4. An astute observation, David. It's quiet round here.
