I've had a visitor ...

... who kept coming to the door and tapping on the glass.

  1. What a lovely pheasant! There's a bird sanctuary about 150 miles from here and if one goes at the right time the pheasants are plentiful. We went out on the road that runs thru the sanctuary(the speed limit is about 5 miles an hour. As you pass by the fields, their heads pop up out of the grasses and they watch very carefully as you drive by. I never saw one that close up, tho.

  2. This one has a mate, and they both wander around the garden most of the day. Doesn't usually come up to the door though. Think he was seeing his reflection in the glass as it was so sunny. Lots around in this area.

  3. How gorgeous! Here in the desert our birds are mostly dust-colored (which is part of their cleverness in surviving), so it's nice to see such beautiful markings.
